Wouldn't it make sense to be able to ask simple questions? Like, "has anyone found the switch to... blah blah".

There are simple questions that brand new members may be able to answer for other brand new members.

Then we could pretend the new members forum is actually useful as opposed to just a bunch of people posting 10 meaningless posts.

This is the reason we have the 10 post rule. It seems to be working fairly well so far. A "sleeper" account shows up from time to time, but we dont have the 400 threads of spam anymore.

why not just ask the technical question in here, until you post 10 times. might get an answer. if it's a good thread, maybe a mod can move it to the proper section, after the Op gets their 10 posts.

Sonic's rules are no technical questions in the new member section so that we don't have to manage a bunch of new threads that might have a useful question. Just post a sentence over 10 posts like a few new members have done and be done with it in the matter of 10 minutes then move on to a techincal section and ask away....

That and the OP got his 10 posts and hasn't posted a word since.
