I'm still waiting for the 1.4L sonic in alaska.......but i was very impressed with my first test drive with an 6 speed manual cruze eco........it drove like an high end luxury car smooth with the alaska roads(pot holes that'll eat cars alive) very little lean on the corners. it had some get up and go but still no sport car but i was still enjoyed the acceleration. the first and only sonic that has made it to alaska was sold with in a week after hitting the showroom floor so i couldnt get a test drive in before it was sold. if the sonic is even close the road manner of the cruze eco i'll be very happy with 1.4l 6sp mt but i did have one bone to pick with the GM is the feel of the clutch and shifting into gears wasn't even close to the quality of the feel of the rest of the car. The clutch had very little feel to when it was going to start to grab. anybody know if the clutch linkage on the cruze/sonic is pully, lever or drive by wire? well i can't remember what kind my cobalt uses but it has a better feel while engaging the clutch then the cruze eco does. anyways they have a couple of sonic's coming to one of the chevy dealership some time soon but they are all autos :-( but yeah either way i'm going to take one of those for a test time some time soon. I'd thought i'd share my first experience of the 1.4L turbo thats both in the cruze and sonic.
well while i was going thru the gears it felt like it was into gear when i shift the stick into 5th and it wasn't so when i engaged the clutch it grid so after that point i to a bit of a delay with the shifting. so yeah lets hope the sonic isn't the same.
