intake filter oil or no oil?

Like the title says

Is an oiled intake filter OK or should I opt for non-oil?
example: oiled Spectre cone filter or non-oil K&N
Or does it matter?

MOST filters that arent oiled are paper filters.

K&N filters are oiled.

As Wong stated only paper element air filters are un oiled.

Oiled filters are fine as long as you don't over oil them and use the proper oil. I. Read the instructions before serviceing.

Several if not most of the short ram intakes many members are currently running are oiled and have been trouble free.

I'm currently using oiled, only because I can't find a dry filter in a local store.

They don't sell unoiled filters. That would imply they were oiled, then the oil was removed.
