Is iPod Mini Supported By My Link?

I have just succeeded in replacing the 4GB drive in a first generation iPod Mini with a 128GB Compact Flash card, but, I accidentally broke the ribbon cable for the click wheel, so it can only be controlled remotely, like by a computer.

When I plugged it into my 2014 My Link, the iPod Mini went into its usual "DO NOT DISCONNECT" screen, but the MY Link showed no sign of reading the iPod Mini.

I have had great success controlling an 80GB iPod Classic with My Link.

How are you connecting? Via USB?

My suspicion is that if the control ribbon is broken that would inhibit control through USB as well, but I'm not really up on the iPod internals
