Leaky sunroof

still not very good at navigating the forums and finding what im looking for so if this has been mentioned before please link it to me.


after it rains im getting like INCHES of water on my floor, only on the passenger side, front and back. I do have a sunroof, and its a hatchback if it makes any difference at all. Took it to the dealership, they said it was a drain that is plugged so its evidently draining into my car. I don't have the cashola to go get it taken care of. i was wondering if anyone knows any magic i can use to fix it myself, or maybe something to convince GM to fix it? i mean, its kind of a flaw that was caused by them not me lol

Your sunroof has drain holes on both sides, toward the front of the car. They can become clogged, or worse disconnected...

These pics show the driver side... 1) the channel leading to the drain

2) the drain itself

Stick a rubber tube or straw into the drain and blow. There shouldn't be any resistance... if there is it's probably clogged. Light compressed air should blow out any debris.

If there's no resistance you can check with water, I'm not sure where it's supposed to exit but if you notice it in the headliner right away the drain tube is disconnected which means you need to pull the headliner away and reconnect... I hope it's just a minor clog!

I hope it's an easy fix, if not...this is from a tahoe, but you get the idea.
