License Standards

I don't know what else to say other than too many people on the road should not have a license. I've said about every curse word in the book when I rolled up to my wife's Sonic after she got T-boned.

Early indication is she is a right off. Thankfully the wife is fine.

Other driver made a left hand turn... right into the side of the sonic. Pretty much everything on the driver side except the rear suspension and tire is toast.

ouch then i assume the unibody at where door mounts is damaged. otherwise if airbags did not go off and the unibody under the A pillar is fine insurance is stupid to right it off..

suspension, some door some shoe polish fix that right up...

i have seen worst repaired.... but also less written off.. (airbags deployed)

It is official. Written off. No airbags deployed but the hinge piller was pushed in as well as the rocker. Sucks but I would rather another car than this one with that amount of repair.
At least the insurance companies are in agreement the other driver was at fault. No deductible or rate change! That plus the wife coming out of it without a scratch is a big relief. The Sonic did its job protecting what I hold most dear.
We are now car shopping again and might be back in a Sonic if we find the right one. In the meantime, insurance is paying for a rental which happens to be an 18 Sonic sedan. It is an LT 1.8L with 15" rim's. In comparison to the hatch, it rides softer but is also a little quieter. Suprising trunk size as well.

yea hinge pillar and rocker are classified as structure.. man.. pop cans these days just cant take a hit no more.....
