M6 Shift knob soft vinyl coming loose

I did search on this problem to see if there was a thread.

My '12 LTZ 6M car has been great, but the soft "leather" bits below the pattern emblem on the shifter lever are coming loose from the "knob", and now there's a bit of a gap visible as its getting larger than the knob with use. Is there a known best fix for this, like an adhesive? Thanks

Mine's done the same thing but it's been that way for some time. Mine also has a hole in the 'leather' on the shifter cover. The chrome on the top is starting to peel.

A new shifter is 100+ .. I'll deal with it for the time being.
