motor mount torque specs

finally found torque specs for passenger side motor mount. the source recommended that new bolts must be used when removing/replacing the mount. why is that? no other discussion of this repair mentioned this requirement.

Not sure - maybe over time the engine vibration causes the bolts to stretch and weaken, but can't really see how since they are external. I know that head bolts must be replaced when replacing a head gasket because the stretch and are subject to really large heating and cooling cycles.

Other things say to replace the bolts, like control arms and rear shocks, but most people don't do that unless the old ones break on removal.

thanks for the reply. i agree with every point you made. the car only has 30k on it. it's hard to figure how a bolt that's torqued to only 37 ftlb could be a problem. think i'll reuse them.
