My test drive review.

I just test drove the 1.8 auto ltz hatch this morning. I was really impressed. I liked the interior, plasticky, but solid I though. Engine was kinda loud but not too bad. I dint notice any of the shoddy workmanship in the model I saw. The seams were tight and the doors felt solid, not tinny. I want one real bad now!

Anyone have questions?

I'm starting to wonder if the trim package they see is a big part of it.

it could be. the LTZ i saw looked really, really, nice. I wish I would have seen a LS or LT, but still. One thing i noticed on the drive was how short 1st gear is. As soon as you hit 10 mph or so it shifts into 2nd. Better mpg i suppose, and not really annoying or anything, just different.

I also noticed that before I knew it, i was going almost 80 mph on the freeway. it has some oomph in that engine, better than my 96 cavalier haha.

Another interesting tidbit; the window sticker had the engine assembly in Germany... I thought that engine was from Korea? And btw transmission is from USA and it's 47% domestic parts.

Test drove a Sonic Hatchback LS 1.8 stick

While I'm waiting for my elusive LTZ Hatchback 1.4L Crystal Red Metallic Tintcoat Turbo w/Sunroof, my dealer called and asked if I wanted to drive a new LS Hatchback stick that just arrived.

I took it for a brief trip around the block and the first thing that impressed me was the shifting.
Man, was it smooth! This was the first time I drove a stick since 2008 and I couldn't believe the smoothness of the transmission!

Everything else, the fitting of the headliner, upholstery, looked great.

With the constraint on my car now at the 24th of October, this is going to be an agonizingly long wait!
