Mylink moving override: can it be done?

It isn't going off the GPS signal because I have that disconnected from my car and the override still occurs around 4 mph, is has to be going off the VSS. If you disconnected that, clipped that wire or whatever, you would also lose the automatic volume increase feature as well. Someone with access to schematics would need to post them to know which wire is providing that signal to the back of the radio. Also, keep in mind that you would likely be breaking at least one law by defeating that.

I don't think this is true.
Watching it while it may be playing, while driving in the drivers seat; Might be illegal.
Enabling it so others can: I don't think that is illegal.

I don't know whether or not it would be illegal or not for sure, it would be worth double checking in your local jurisdiction though. Maybe I'm just thinking of any OEM video playback device that plays while the vehicle is in motion is always behind the front seat area out of the drivers view.

In most, if not all states it is illegal to have video visible by the driver while the vehicle is in motion.
That said, many other OEM units have lockpicks that enable the feature. Hopefully someone picks up on it.

Seems kind of stupid... I mean, you could just as easily run into someone looking at your GPS as looking at the video...

I have the GM2 on my 2012 Suburban, works great. Can watch DVDs and/or we can put in an address in Nav while moving.
I called a week ago, they ARE working on MyLink for Sonic now. He said they should have something in 2 months or so. :banana: The black box will also have camera input ports, so I'm sure you will be able to add at least 2 cameras.
There is NO wait list, just have to keep checking the web page.
These laws were made even before the days of GPS receivers and portable cell phones.

Not discounting this fact. It is still stupid. It is things like this that are the worst of America.
Please, let me protect everyone by taking away your rights, rather than make it your responsibility and punishing you thoroughly if you fail....

Or remove the side view mirrors and add cameras. No mirrors is illegal too, but I think would make the Sonic look smooth and be techy.

In Alaska, it's illegal to have the DVD system/tv whatever you'd like to call it, in view of the driver. Two or three years ago, a gentlemen had his wire cut to view DVDs while driving, he managed to get into a head on collision killing two people, he wasn't watching a DVD while he was driving but is currently serving life for manslaughter. Any electronic device here is illegal to use while driving (except headset)

Id do this not for me but for passengers riding in my car, especially for long trips, let me drive while they entertain themselves with an in car movie.

Radio uses the onstar antenna. Onstar has a GPS. The Mylink doesn't.
Found this guy in a camaro forum. Im sure there are others who do this, but this guy's website charges $200 to hack the software. This tells me that it can be done, and that you can probably have it done for less if you look around. I think i'd rather pay for a tune than this.

If it can be done this is awesome, I am not supporting watching videos while driving but like others have said it would be nice for the passenger. Also 200 dollars just for just ******* the MyLink is crazy talk. There has got to be another way around this. Also does anyone know if its possible to get YouTube app or just YouTube period working on the MyLink, it would be pretty cool to have music videos playing.
