New Ford Fiesta ST200

I was really into the FoST & FiSTs until I really started shopping around. They are hands down a performance car over the Sonic. However, if you are intending to use an ST as a DD then I feel the sonic is just as good if not better.

When I was shopping I would see either ST model for high teens/low twenties used. My sonic was out the door for just over $11k with almost no miles!

What really did the STs in for me was insurance. Got a few quotes from my agent and hands-down the sonic was the cheapest to insure, I got four quotes and this is the order of least expensive to most expensive:

1. Sonic Turbo LTZ
2. Fiat Abarth
3. Focus ST
4. Fiesta ST

I'm not sure how the Focus beat out the Fiesta but I recall it wasn't by more than a few dollars.

the fiesta's rear seat is almost useless unless you're a kid.. Same with the 500 Abrath (although they make that engine sweet and sound AWESOME!)

That's where the Sonic shines I believe, sporty but 4 actual people can fit in it...

Well maybe ford should up the production. Can't sell cars if they don't produce them. Of course sales will be down if they don't produce them. I would love to have a small car with 300 hp that handles like its on rails. Camero's have their place but so do small powerful cars. And GM sold 78,000 Cameros but how many of those were Z28's and all the other off upper trim levels. I can tell you now, most Camero's are the lower trim levels. So yes Limited amount of people buy them but it doesn't mean there's not a place for chevy to make a small powerful car. A small light car making 300 hp would be nuts and chevy is missing the boat on this.

BTW - there is no such car as a CamEro - it's a CAMARO... (us Camaro owners are kinda picky about that....

Do you realize that the base V8 Camaro has 455 HP and 455 foot pounds of torque?

The current Z28 only has about 10% more power - with 505 HP and 481 foot pounds of torque. It really is a track car with a sticker price in excess of $70,000.00.

For about $35,000 less - I'd be happy with the 1SS Camaro with 455/455... And that is not a stripped car - it comes standard with an upgraded performance suspension package, Brembo brakes, 20" rims with 245/40ZR20 front and 275/35ZR20 rear tires, rear spoiler and 8" MyLink radio and driver info center...

This train of thought led me to buy my sonic aswell. As cool as a 200 hp subcompact sounds it's the only thing the FiST has over the sonic. The recaro seats are what killed it for me. I'm a single dad and i need a car with utility and comfort. Also after owning my sonic for a bit of time now i have very little desire for more power.
