New intercooler/tune questions

I’ll be installing my new intercooler within the next week or so. My first question is, if I was to do the DDM works silicone charge pipes and use the factory 90’ section with the boost sensor would that be sufficient? I wanted to get a full 2.5” set but didn’t really want to spend the $230 on the zzp and the cx racing ones are even more! I thought about a universal kit and building my own but the boost sensor is holding me up. Any insight or helpful advice would be awesome. Also after installing how soon will I be needing a tune?

Not really familiar with how the DDM charge pipes fit I would hit them up with a email they are always helpful as far as upgrading the intercooler unplug the Battery when you install it and you should be good to go just install the tune when you get it

What will disconnecting the negative do for me? Reset the boost sensor?

Yea it resets the sensors making it less likely to throw a code when making changes like the intake or intercooler

Gotcha. Well I’m noticing a some people upgrade the intercooler and just use the stock piping. I wanted to run 2.5” all the way but Jess the sure about using that 90’ section that houses the boost sensor but I’m guessing it won’t be as restricted as I thought. I’m still undecided on what I wanna do for piping but my intercooler was just shipped out!

I went with the Mpfab intercooler came with the charge pipes but I would have gone with DDM pipes if just buy the core DDM has always put out good stuff

Yeah. I think I may just get the DDM silicone kit. I just don’t like the idea of that particular section being so small in diameter but I haven’t seen any negative feedback about it while still upgrading the IC so I think that’s what I’ll do.

Well, it’s settled! Since I’m only running the stock turbo (for now) I’m going to run the DDM silicone charge pipes. Should be ordered tomorrow and my intercooler will be here wed so I’m pretty pumped! Shortly after install I’ll be getting tuned so results to come soon!
