New owner in New York

Hey Everyone, glad I found a Sonic specific forum! I come to you from Aveoforums.com which I am still very active in. That forum also includes the Sonic as it was the next evolutionary step in the Aveo. I very surprised that GM didn't keep the name because as we all know it's still called that in the rest of the world.
Anyway both my wife and I decide it was time to get new cars and as you can see by my signature she got the Sonic and I bought the Cruze. I was going to buy the Sonic Sedan but I they didnt have one with the 1.4L Turbo and the six speed manual on the lot and the Cruze did. Our Aveos have been wonderful. My 04 Aveo sedan was given to my wifes cousin with 157000 miles on it and shes still driving it and my wifes 07 Aveo hatchback had 67000 miles on it and was sold to my friend Paul. So at least we still get to see the cars from time to time. Looking forward to learning much more about the Sonic and following everyones mods!

Welcome....maybe I should pick up an aveo to keep the miles low on the sonic. Not a bad idea.

The base Sonic is a good car, but the 1.4T is such a big step forward, I can't understand why dealers aren't stocking them. I ended up getting mine swapped in from a dealer in MD... and I'd told my local guys I'd probably want the turbo at least two months in advance.

They just go "nope, people don't want that", and then point to their sales numbers to prove it... but their sales numbers reflect what was on their lot!

Anyway, welcome to the forum, it's pretty active, and a lot of the issues and ideas will translate back and forth between the Cruze and Sonic, plus you're in a better position than most to talk about the differences.
