New turbo bad water pump.

I bought a Sonic last year with a bad turbo. I eventually put a turbo on it last month. The car ran amazing, but would leave the overflow empty. This went on for a week until my daughter wrecked the car’s right fender.

A mont later I triumphantly fixed the car to give to my daughter then realized the water pump is leaking. Can a new turbo can the water pump to die?

Not likely caused by the new turbo. The early years of the 1.4T had chronic waterpump failures. It was bad enough that GM extended the warranty on the part specifically. Check with a local dealer as they might replace it for free.
