Ok I did my ten! Now how do I send a pic....or 20?
Welcome to SOF!
There are 2 common ways of posting pics:
After copying the pics from your phone or camera to your computer, click the 'Go Advanced' button below the comment box which opens additional options.
Then click the little paperclip icon at the top of the comment box; this opens the 'Manage Attachments' window. Then 'Browse' to the photos on your hard-drive and double-click a photo. The file name will then display on the 'Manage Attachments' window.
Repeat this for each desired photo, then close that window and click 'Preview Post' or 'Submit Reply'. The photos will appear as thumbnails in your post and require the viewer to click on them to see full size.
The best way IMO is from an account you create on a photo-hosting site, such as Photobucket.
When you view a photo from your photo-hosting site, right-click on the photo and select 'Copy Image Location'.
Then on this forum page, choose a place within your text for the photo and click the little picture icon above the comment box. Paste the copied image location into the little widow that opens up, and click 'Ok'. If you preview your post you'll see the photo where you placed it.
Initial setup of this method takes longer than the previous method but once set up, the advantages are that it allows you to quickly post your photos from that site onto any forum on the web.
Also, the photos can be placed anywhere within your post and display reasonable size without requiring the viewer to click on thumbnails.
Some photo hosting sites allow you to select the size to post so they fit properly into typical screen resolutions. And believe me, I really wish a lot of folks would either select a smaller size or reduce the original size before posting them, as many posted photos are so big I can hardly view them. Some forums, such as here on SOF, automatically reduce them to a reasonable size when you view the thread but page-loading can take a while if the photo files are huge and the viewer's internet has low streaming rate (mbps).
There ya go, that should boggle your mind for a while
