Before breaking any land speed records, I would definitely lower the car a little more with a complete suspension kit, and add the rear zzp sway bar. Even the rs is too boat like, and I would be nervous having to make a quick turn at those speeds. My fastest is around 85... but this car is my compromise between performance, gas mileage, and mostly, park-ability.

For stability on the highway I would add the bnr front bar before the rear.
The rear come in handle more when making tight turned and reduces understeer in doing so.

I bet if you bypass the bypass it can't dump the boost and u will be able to do better. I know stabilitrack or whatever does that to me as I take corners to fast. You can actually hear it let the boost out.

another way to find if speed limited or rpm limited, install taller tires. If speed limited, 131 or so will be the max. If rpm limited, then max speed will be higher.
On a track, I hit about 110 with traction control off (RS hatchback stock suspension). It was a bit unstable side-to-side but otherwise tracked straight.

Or just put the car on jacks and run it up to 130. Is it safer you may ask? Even if the car falls off thr jacks it's probably less disastrous than a wreck at 130mph when you swerve to avoid a deer. Just make sure you've got some clear space in front of the car, unlike ferris bueller.

A little update to this. Wanted to add what how these cars are handling over all over here.
So I have an RS and my wife has an LTZ automatic. Both 1.4 turbo. When we usually go on long drives we take her car. Mainly because she has a higher end gear ratio in her car. Simply put, her RPM speed is about 1K less than mine at speeds over 60 MPH.
Just wanted to say that these cars handle 100+ speeds with ease. We head to another base quite a bit. it is about an hour drive. Of that, i can easily do around 105 mph most of the without any issues. The RPM's on her car are around 3000+ doing that. (My RS is usually around 4k) Usually I only slow down when there is a speed limit or car gets in front of me.
Needless to say her car is stock. It rides nice and has enough power to hold speed and build speed back up quickly. I will feel sad when I head back to the states and drive slow knowing these cars can easily handle so much more.
PS.. I have not tried to get her car to top speed...........yet!

Wish I had an RS, great looking little cars. Dealer across the street has a sweet Dragon Green one for the last year, just waiting for them to drop it to "Get rid of it!" pricing 
For comparison my little POS 1.8l 5spd will top out at about 122-23+ mph, just nudging the 200 kmh point. 199 kmh (if it's accurate) and if I had had another mile it probably would've hit 200. I was quite shocked they let this little thing run that high. And it was fine at that speed too...and we aint got nothin' like the smoothness of the Autobahn here. It's more like the land that time forgot...whoever it was posted they'd never been past 85 would've been shi++ing bricks I'm sure. I only did it (twice) in the name of science...otherwise I drive 90-100 kmh, 10kmh below spd limit, for the added benefit of getting 50+ mpg on the highway. I've never been afraid to go fast though...clear road, no traffic...hammer down. There's no other reason to do it with this thing again since I know now. But at least I know.

I got mine up to 130 exactly on Saturday night on I-84E. I don't realistically think it can go any faster than that, but I didn't feel a "governor" kick in at all.

You must have an rs stick. Ours is auto and final ratio is 3.53. Stick is 4.18. We have gone 140 at less rpm. We are trying to find a speed trial for this summer to take ours to to try and set a record and document it. We figure we should be able to go 148-152 with the power we are making. We dont want to go to bonneville because its too far. The texas mile is a possibility. And maybe mid ohio
