Only left speakers work when using BT

Hi,

I have 2012 Sonic LT Sedan.

It has been okay until this May, but one day, while I was listening to music from my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge through bluetooth, the speakers on the passenger side went out with a thump sound. Since then, the passenger side speakers mostly stay off although they come on occasionally. The strange thing is that they work fine when I use radio(AM, FM, XM) or aux (I think my usb port is dead for some reason. It doesnt get connected nor charge my phone.) It is only the bluetooth that makes the speakers go wrong (again, they still work sometimes )

I brought the car to dealership last week, and they couldn't find what's causing it. Can anyone help me? Not knowing that the usb port is dead, I bought an external bluetooth receiver that connects through aux port, but with the dead usb port, the wires get so messy. And the volume of music through aux port 1,2 is much smaller than BT. So, I don't like using it.

Try forgetting the phone and reconnecting... moving the phone around the interior has no effect?

I would troubleshoot the phone since your speakers work with the radio. Connect it to a different Bluetooth device and see if only the left speakers work.

A mechanic at the dealershop tried using different phones, one Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (the same model as mine) and an IPhone (I don't know which model). He said the left speakers did not work for both.

No it doesn't change anything ..

Just bumping this thread to see if anyone else has had this problem. For the past year maybe once a month, my right side speakers have just produced a static noise with no audio coming out when connected to bluetooth. Now it happens about 50% of the time with the right side speakers either having a crackling sound with audio or a static noise with no audio at all. As OP mentioned, radio and everything else plays fine with the right side speaker. Resetting the bluetooth and re-pairing provides a temporary fix, but the problem comes back maybe 5 minutes later. Very frustrating to not know what the solution is.
