p195/65/r15 question

2013 Sonic LT 4 door sedan. OEM is P195/65/R15. would like to buy some rims and tires for this and possibly do a 17 " rim with a lower profile. trying to keep same height as original spec but with 17 " rim.maybe a hair wideras well.Can someone please tell me what i should shop for as far as what size 17" that would come decently close to OEM of the 15"not trying to go all out on extreme low profile, just a subtle differance, to change look on car without takeing away integrity of cambar, cv join distruction.

Basically wanting a lower profile tire not extreme, maybe a little wider , but to compensate for the lower profile, i would go to a 17 right?

Or 225/45 which would be slightly wider.

The factory 17" cars have a 205/50/17, you can use a 215/45 or a 225/45 and be very close, the 225/45 is almost a perfect match in diameter and that's what I went with when switching from the stock LT 15" to a 17" wheel/tire setup.

225/40/17 will be perfect for what you're looking for. If you're not lowered at all, go 225/45/17 so you have a bit less fender gap. I personally recommend 225/45/17 anyways, even if you're lowered.
