Parking light bulb change (PITA)

I have searched all over the forums several times and the only topic I've found was quickly shut down with a 'search for it' reply.

I am pulling my hair out over trying to remove the parking light bulb.

It's located in the same housing as the low / dipped beam headlight.

I've pulled it with my fingers from every which way, grabbed it with pliers, levered it with a screw driver and even sworn at it.
I stopped short of bashing it open with a sledge hammer... Only just.

The tiny little fitting attached to the brown wires.

the little wires which loop? does it twist out?

No I've rotated it both ways but no give, it's a different type of plug that I've not seen before.

I was hoping someone might have some tips.
My lows, hi's and fogs have 6500k lights but my parking bulbs are still stock (probably 2500-3000k) and they look terrible.

There must be something I'm missing.
