I just took my Sonic in to check out my intermittent Bluetooth connection, and they found an applicable service bulletin. This may apply to your Sonic if you have the LG Bluetooth module in your car.
Subject: Bluetooth Connection Issues with LG Modules
Models: 2008-2012 All GM Passenger Car and Light Duty Trucks with RPO (UPF or UWE)

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptoms described in this PI.
Condition/Concern
A customer may report an issue for intermittent loss of Bluetooth connection between the customer's cell phone and their GM vehicle. In some cases you may experience no audio in the vehicle for incoming and outgoing calls. When this occurs the Bluetooth system may say "Unable to place call on your Bluetooth phone." This issue only applies to vehicles equipped with LG VCIM's. Technicians will need to verify the VCIM manufacturer with the scan tool under module information. Below is a list of the most common cell phones available that may experience these concerns.

General Motors, OnStar, and the listed cell phone manufacturers worked together and created a software update to correct the Bluetooth concerns. The software update is being downloaded to the vehicles involved using an Over The Air process. This software update is currently being rolled out to each vehicle and may take several months to complete.
Note: If the customers cell phone is not on the list and is experience these same issues. Please contact General Motors Technical Assistance to verify if the PI applies to the customers concern.
