Anyone know how many quarts it takes for an oil change? I'll be doing it this weekend but can't figure out how many quarts of oil i need

The owners manual is not always correct.
That being said 4.8 is probably correct in this case. I just dump in the 5qt jug and call it good.
This is true.... a human wrote the manual.. hmmm and it is human to err?

i would do 4qt's and then check it. you dont want to overfill it

Yeah, I've done this once. What a MESS! but at least the guys i took it to fixed it for free. Of course I had to hug one of them..

Srose, you got me to grin. That is the second time this week; I believe a record has been set.
I also put too much oil in when doing a self oil change, not changing the filter but adding oil as if I had. Foaming etc. resulted in needing a complete oil change just days later. I can not remember the specific symptom that told me something was wrong, but I think it was the engine was unexpectedly running rough. 35 years ago and details fade.
