In the close to two years that I've had my 2014 Sonic, I've had a few coolant leaks just like so many others. I've had the water outlet problem, a coolant temp sensor that was leaking and the hairline cracks in the overflow tank. The tank I fixed myself cheaply enough. The water outlet was covered under the power train warranty and the temp sensor ran me about $100. So all in all, I feel pretty lucky that I haven't had to spend much (zero other issues with the car). Well, last week we had temps around -30f here in Minnesota. For a few days I had coolant on the ground under the front of the car. Turns out I had a cracked radiator. From the looks of it, I would say it's been cracked for awhile but the cold temps just made it worse. Had it replaced today at the dealership for a little under $800. Considering the amount of work involved (removing the bumper/grill) I don't feel that was too bad. So here's to hoping the coolant issues are finally fixed. Oh, and by the way, car started on the first try every time in the -30f temps and it still has it's original battery
