Rear Fender Skirts

This is mostly sharing ideas. An ecomod that can make for some MPG improvement. I made a basic photoshop of what it would look like. Anyone who would be interested in helping make this in fiberglass?

I've seen a few of the old Geo Metros around here that have gone that route. Along with your idea, look into getting the belly pan that used to be included on the 2012 Sonics - people have noticed and increase in vehicle stability and fuel economy using one.

I have the belly pan. Didn't notice mileage but did notice stability. I'm thinking a diffuser in the back would do wonders for this car

Yeah this is a basic mock up. A finished product could be cleverly sculpted around the contours of the existing flare, paint matched to the car. Vents would kind of defeat the purpose, as the intention is to keep airflow out of the wheel well.

Forgive my ignorance... It seems a build up of heat in the rear could have adverse effects on braking.

you still have some airflow. but the rear doesnt make much heat

Air would still circulate in from underneath, the impact this has is the air sliding along the side of the car doesn't get caught in the wheel well, causing drag.

Tape the car off and do a tuft test and see how it impacts the cars air flow. Simple cheap and easy to do to see how it effects the car

you can buy them from chevy still. if you search around you can find them for under 100 bucks
