I wonder if this is something related to the issue that popped up on our car. It is a 1.4 but 2013 model. It will sometimes not start on first try and we did notice a gas smell once or twice. It will always start on the second key bump. Wondering if the line is leaking and bleeding off fuel pressure when parked for a while.
