Replacement key

Im about to be installing a viper system in my car and i dont like having a bulky keychain. The remote for the viper system is just about as big as the sonics factory keyfob. Does any body know exactly hat type of key i should get so i can properly cut it and have it programmed to my car. That way i can have just a small key and the viper remote.

The key comes cut from the factory from the vin. number. I think they are lazer cut

I don't think there laser cut....... I think there milled.... Laser cutters can't control the depth of cut good enough to do that kinda work

I bought a blank for a 2014 silverado and then had it cut to match my sonic. It programmed and works great! If you try to order it precut from GM it will get cancelled because the sonic and silverado use different cuts.

You can get a key blank cut for the Sonic and you can add the chip also so it will start and use the Viper fob to lock and unlock. You can add all of the keys you need to this thing as long as you are not a janitor lol.

On a related note with this, I already have a Keyport, and want to move my ignition key in to it so I can have a smaller remote keyfob. What should I look for in getting a more compact factory keyless remote? Would any GM 4-button (locks, remote start, panic) remote work on the Sonic? Or would the better option be to go with an aftermarket alarm?
