Hi there. I have a 2013 Sonic LS that I just got with only 29,000 miles. The only issue I have for right now is the radio,
It's a UM7 unit (no AUX, no CD) that I can apparently get from the junkyard for $50. I don't really use the radio at all. But the one in there looks like a bit of an eyesore and I would rather just replace it instead of having to look at that heavily scratched up screen.
Can I just take one from a junkyard that has the same serial number and plug it in? Or do these need to be programmed or unlocked?
If it does need to be programmed or unlocked, I guess buying anything that would be a direct fit would be fine. I'm not particular, but I really don't want to mess around with installing any cables or wires that aren't already there. Would there be any basic unit that looks decent that you recommend?
