I think it has to do with weight distribution at high speeds. The back end of these cars is so light weight it’s hard to keep it planted. Especially at high speeds, the slightest change when steering hard will make you lose the rear end.
I actually gutted the rear of my hatch to lose some weight and ended up almost drifting when I’d corner sharp on the track. Put it all back in to add some weight back. Ended up mounting up a rear diffuser in hopes for some downforce.
Super sticky tires might help, but I just think it’s the weight difference.
You can also add some camber to the rear wheels if you’re looking for more grip around corners.
Lower center of gravity would give you more grip.
Also, coming into the corner, understeer might get you. You want to hold throttle through the whole corner. If you let out mid corner, you’ll transfer weight and lose grip. Same with braking, if you brake after throttle in a corner, the weight will transfer to the front and you’ll oversteer as a result.
Hope this helps
