Rough/loud idle after spark plug change

I recently replaced my spark plugs with autolite platinums. Ever since, the car has idled rough and has been much louder from the engine. It does quiet down a little after it warms up but overall it is much louder than before.

I am pretty sure I gapped them correctly. From what I read they should be .26?

Any ideas are appreciated!

I'm trying to find the thread, but I swear I saw another Sonic owner who did the same thing with platinum spark plugs and their car didn't like it at all.

It's the silliest thing, but cars can be picky about which spark plugs they like.
Try putting ACDelcos in it. I'll bet it'll perk up.

Delco iridium plugs. Same mfg as NGK.

Thanks for the info guys! I priced the acdelco at $28 plus tax on amazon plus $12 back in rebates.

My next question is, will driving with the platinums hurt anything? I work 60 hours a week and we’re about to go on vacation. Time is short and I don’t know when I’ll be able to get around to changing them out.

Ignition system (coils) are designed to work with Iridium spark plugs. The iridium plugs draw much less amperage to fire than Platinum spark plugs. I did some research on this on the past for another vehicle. Platinum plugs draw more current to fire than standard copper core and iridium. Stick with OEM or NGK Iridium plugs. It's also possible there might be damage to one of the coil boots that you may have not noticed.
