I hear its not safe in fords ecoboost cars so i'm assuming its not safe in our cars.

I used to religiously use it in my Nissan SE-R. Started doing it a few years after I had the car. The plume of smoke that came out of the back was a sight to see 
I can't say for the sonic, but I've done it on N/A cars without a problem.

Ecoboost engines shouldn't use it because chunks of carbon could get into the turbo and cause problems. So I assume we'd have the same problems and besides the tests I've seen on YouTube of before and after seafoam it doesn't do that great of a job.

Seafoam is great for carburated or fuel injected naturally aspirated motors, not so much for turbo. It's really just a high alcohol octane booster designed to burn super hot and cook deposits away.
Like Champ said... Not good for turbo. GM injector cleaner is very highly rated

While I agree that Seafoam is a good product, it is not an octane booster.
Higher octane will actually produce a "cooler" burn - not a "hotter" burn. This is how premium fuel eliminates "knock" or "pinging".
I've worked with the Seafoam rep a few times and he has never claimed it to be an "octane booster".

I used it when I did my initial oil change after getting my used '12 1.4t. I also ran a bottle through through the gas little by little with every fill up for about the first month. I didn't sense any negative effects but then again I didn't notice any positive ones either. I've used Seafoam for years in all my vehicles but this is my first turbo.

Well I went and used it anyway.
I searched for as much information as I could find on whether or not seafoam is safe for turbos...couldn't find any real evidence saying that it is bad, so I went for it. Loosened my intake duct and used a syringe to squirt seafoam into the intake. The engine did not stall or even sputter very much. A big cloud of black smoke came out the exhaust, which eventually turned white and finally clear. I put about 2/5ths of the can into the intake, and squirted a bit into the crankcase as well, then put the rest in the gas tank. No problems, nothing went wrong...and that black cloud tells me that it surely cleaned something out.
