So my cars been miss firing a lot more lately once spooled so I'm about to take out the spark plugs and take a look. Probably just going to end up replacing them, I checked the gap a few months ago and it was fine. Anyways has anyone else changed theres yet? any recommendations? In my DSM I used to run the NGK BP6ES and I noticed on advance auto's website the NGK BP7ES is on the list, It's a cooler plug then the 6 but I've had good luck with ngk so I'm thinking about giving that a try unless someone has a better idea.

The OEM plugs should last for quite a bit longer. Pull the plugs and visually inspect and compare them for sure though.
Colder plugs might be ok if you do a lot of stop and go driving where the turbo is working a lot. But if you see a lot of highway miles, then the colder plugs run the risk of forming carbon/soot deposits. You'll just need to check and clean them a little more frequently.

it only does it when pulling past 3k rpm in 3rd gear or higher so I don't think the dealer would do much if I went in and said hey my cars misfiring while I'm doing 3rd gear pulls going from 70-90 lol. I know that would be a dumb thing to say but it really only does that when hauling ass in 3rd gear getting on the highway. I data logged my tune and vince said it looked fine and to check plugs. the tips had a slight brown tint to them and they were all gapped correctly except for cylinder 4, it was about .003" off. I'll test tomorrow to see if it fixed the problem. By the way it came from the factory with NGK plugs with a rating of 7.

This reeks of coil pack or the connections not making proper contact. Especially is the log was looked at and all is good. Did you get a code?
I haven't had any check engine codes or anything, I figured it would've triggered some? When I looked at the coil pack the 2 of them (cylinders 1&2) were bent off to the side where they might not of been making good contact with the top of the spark plug, I centered them and put it back on so it might've been that too unless they straighten themselves out when you put it on.

I am getting a surging from 3000-5000 rpms not at all times. tho. Wondering how it feels when yours is doing the hole missing thing.
it would pop and feel like you brake checked hard for a second then accelerated again. I couldn't get it to do it at all today so I guess I fixed the problem for now.

I think i will be checking my plugs. I sent in another elog when it was doing it but haven't herd anything back yet.

Eric, note the hand. There was a duality to it.
On a side note, I am not a fan of the gap wires. I prefer the feeler gauges. For real anal days you can use a thin one to check for slop.
