Sun Visor Solutions?

The sun visor is not very long, but the side window is. In the winter, I am having to position my hand to block the sun.
About 3" of black film at the top of the window would be functional, but it is not a look I like. Maybe if there was a 4" tall gradient film that was clear at the bottom and went to black for the top two inches.
My other cars have ways to extend the visor to cover to the B pillar.

What have people done to block the sun?

I've been wearing sunglasses, but the side coverage on those is impressive.
However, you've still got a place for light to get it.
Maybe a pair of these:

Or perhaps I should style with these classic shades!

How about turning around and driving in the opposite direction?
Seems like a simple enough solution!
Or if you really have to go to that destination, you could go in reverse!

Sonic boomer I have the same compliant. On our other car you slide out a plastic shield to make it longer. It was so bad in Utah on my way to California we used a popout sunshade in the drivers window. I was getting absolutely fried.

Between the sun cooking me and the steering wheel emblem blinding me, it wasn't a great day

I wear glasses, so sunglasses that are giant are kind of necessary. I actually like the little side window on these ones. It doesn't totally destroy my
peripherals. Also, they were ~$15 at walmart.

I see that in the picture it's hard to see; those little windows are actually tinted glass.

I took some measurements and now am waiting to get my hands on Malibu sun visors - they look to be about the same size, but they extend back to cover that damn 3". More to come.

I have the same issue...the HHR also has the sun visor that extends...too bad they couldn't incorporate this on the sonic...being tall i have to lean the seat back and i get that annoying sun blindness gap from the edge of the visor to the b piller...so pisses me off.

Why not try one of those Asian visor masks I see around china town in my area. Lol
