Tachometer

The tachometer in my sonic rests at about 250 when the engine is off. Is there any way to fix this?

HUM, that's a good question. If you tack reads normally wile running, I wouldn't worry about it. For some reason I can't remember if the gauges cycle on start up like the older GM cars did. If they do, does yours do a full sweep on start up? Otherwise I wouldn't worry about it unless you want to pay for a new cluster.

The tachometer is off by that amount because I checked it against what the live data from my scan tool was saying. Thanks for your answer also!

After a few months, my car was throwing the code P0335, Crankshaft Position Sensor 'A' Circuit malfunction. I replaced the sensor and now it rests at 0 when the car is off and the tachometer shows the correct engine speed.
