Turbo Bypass Block off plate

if its the atmospheric one, it blows all of it off.

if its recirculating, then it blows off none.

OK I'm following you now, the forge unit is a full replace but the one you got (and others like it) which goes elsewhere, would require this plate at the original location.

Obviously I also am not 100% on the subject, but think I understand mostly.
You say "hybrid" so it actually recirculates some of the air but blows off most of it?

I think if you think of it as an atmospheric BPV it will probably make more sense. Like Eric said, it bypasses the excess boost but vents 100% to the atmosphere but it doesn't accomplish this the same way an external BOV does (inline with the boost tube after the turbo), the stock and Forge BPV recirculate 100%.

How can it "recirculate" if it blows it all off? Thats the only part of your description that doesn't make sense to me. Or are you not talking about forge atmospheric one?

Sorry. The internal port (inside the turbo that allows the charge to loop back to the intake to be recirculated) that recirculates on the standard bypass is blocked off on the atmospheric valve and it just vents out the circle of holes around the exterior of the base to open air like a true BOV but it sits in the stock BPV location (not in the charge tube) making it a hybrid. I think I'm spent, either that or I just can't describe it.

No, at least not from my understanding. The BOV requires a tune, otherwise the MAF sensor doesn’t know where all the air that should have been in recirculation went.
