And where (if at all) do our Sonics fit in?
I'm only interested in finding out what people think of looks, not performance or quality. (i.e. Corvette vs. Spark would only be based on styling). This is just idle curiosity.
The rules (if there are any) are to only select from cars/trucks that GM sells in the United States right now. Specify the trim level (and, optionally, color if it makes a difference). Also, remember this is just people's opinions (and not very important ones at that) so feel free to disagree, but be polite
In my opinion they are (in order):
1) Cadillac ELR (again, we are talking looks, not performance)

2) Buick Regal GS (in any dark color)

3) Our little Sonic (LTZ Hatch)

4) Chevy Cruze (LTZ with the RS package in any dark color)

5) Cadillac ATS coupe

6) Chevy Corvette (coupe or convertible, but ONLY in a very dark color like black. In any other color it drops to like 9th or 10th in the lineup for me.)

I struggled with this list because of a number of reasons. First, the Regal is such an old design right now, but I still think it is really elegant. The corvette can be beautiful, but most of the time it just kind of looks vulgar to me (in most color combinations). I also really like the new ATS coupe from some angles. But from others it feels either too dull or a bit out of proportion. The Chevy SS made it to my list and then was bumped off by the Cruze (again, we are only talking looks here and the Cruze has such a clean, geometric look. If GM still sold the Pontiac G8, that would have bumped the ATS coupe). Hell, if Pontiac were still around the Solstice Coupe would have sat very near the top of my list).
Finally, I may be biased, but I REALLY like the look of our little Sonics.
Ultimately, I am an import guy who grew up with tiny European cars and that is what I tend towards. FWD cars appeal to me aesthetically far more than rear wheel drive muscle cars. I've never liked trucks or SUV's and sports cars are generally more dull looking to me than a sedan or hatch or wagon.
I know I am probably in the minority with these weird opinions but I'm curious how others would rank GM's cars. What do you like?
