White Smoke from bottom of engine

Bad flex pipe

Do you think I can wrap it with exhaust tape or should I replace the flex pipe?

It might work as a temporary fix, but replacing the pipe is the permanent solution.

Installed the new flex pipe. Pretty easy. New hardware that came with the flex pipe wasn't quite right so had to get a little different size nut, bolt and washer. The problem is the fit is tight and the flex pipe is pressed up against here as shown in the photo. Should I be worried about too much heat in there with the flex pipe touching?

Yes, there is a risk: direct contact with a hot surface can damage the pipe or cause localized overheating. It's best to add thermal protection or slightly reposition the pipe to avoid contact.

Got an exhaust leak. It being white is running rich in fuel is suggest. Could be an expensive repair but if you can't hear it I'd look for some sort of repair with a heat tollerant binding mixture to buy a few more good miles
