From my understanding after researching a while on M32's used in European track cars, heat is the biggest issue. External oil tank coolers (oil reservoirs) are available from Europe, and some people have set up transmission coolers
+ pump for this reason.
The nylon shift fork covers are not conducive to high rpm shifting while hot. Brass would be better, but wear out quicker.
GM modified the case around 2011/2012 to make sure the 6th gear bearing wasn't starved of oil, a common problem on older M32's. We should all have that modified case, but few have been opened here on the forums to check. This doesn't seem to be an issue with our M32's.
Other than that, there doesn't seem to be radical differences in the synchros or rings vs other trannys. The transmissions themselves are pretty strong, a lot of people are putting big power down on stock transmissions. The new dual mass flywheel helps a lot with drivetrain shock on our cars.
... our shifter and stock cables are pretty sloppy too. There are aftermarket shifters with multi-way adjustable cable settings, that would save a lot of slop in the gear selection, but these are expensive.
