Why??

Why is my 3 y/o 48k mile sonic RS have si many little issues? Why is it even rusting on the trunk trim! It sleeps in a garage and gets used 3 times per week!
From linkage to struts to shifter noise and clutch pedal noises, Dont get me wrong i wanted to buy this car cus i wanted to have something rare and an exclusive edition that one day may become iconic... I didn't want the usual civic si or the fiesta st that my friends begged me to get! Nor the genesis or the expensive sti... i wanted a simple turbo platform that one day people where gonna say... man we underestimated that car!..... now dont het me wrong i like the car very much but i feel is not getting the usage to be breaking and rusting the way it is.

If you're in an area that uses salt or other ice melters, putting the car in the garage may well make the problem worse, not better.

I thought that trim was plastic

take off the chrome trim and see where the source is. 9/10 its probably from the mounting hole for that trim. doesn't look too bad so just clean up whatever rust there is and spray some rattle can clear coat or something. of course after you tape and mask off the area so no overspray gets on the car.
