ZZP catless downpipe on factory exhaust

Forgive me if this has already been answered (I searched around)...but has anybody added a ZZP catless downpipe to an otherwise factory exhaust system? From what I understand it should bolt right in, and that is where the majority of the (exhaust) power gains come from. I know I'll have to turn off the catalyst sensor using EZ flash or else I'll have a check engine light. I'm trying to keep costs down this summer (new quad to work on) and am wondering if this mod will change the sound of my otherwise factory exhaust at all...

Ive been running the DP on a stock exhaust for months now..... Sorta, there's no exhaust on my car after the 2nd cat.

With my setup there was a huge increase in turbo noise and It's a little bit louder, it was already obnoxiously loud.

The turbo will spool marginally better as will topend power.

It's a bolt up affair. 1v-band clamp at the turbo (13mm). 2 10mm bolts to support the cat and 3 13mm nuts bolting the DP to the midpipe.

Good catch. How could I forget the hidden bolt. It left Eric scarred for life.

A 10mm flex head ratchet wrench makes short work of it. Or an assortment of extensions and swivels on a ratchet.

Well, the install is complete. ZZP racing down pipe to custom straight pipe to factory muffler/tip. I thought this would be something of a sleeper system but the factory muffler can barely handle the straight pipe system; it's fairly loud. Little to no drone at highway speeds which is nice, and the turbo is definitely audible. I'm smelling some light fumes when I'm idling so I'm hoping it's just pipe coating burning off.

Odors during cold starts or during WOT runs is normal with the cats removed. Without any catalytic converters your smelling hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide.

Carbon monoxide is what I'm worried about. I didn't expect to be smelling exhaust fumes inside the car at idle with the factory exhaust dump at the back of the car. It seems that I can smell exhaust fumes from the vent when I have the windows closed. Strangely enough it doesn't seem to smell outside the car very much, just through the vent.
