Default OIL contamination in coolant reservoir cause and fix

i just thought id make a thread to let other 1.8 sonic owners of a potential for oil getting into the coolant. I had noticed oil sludge contamination inside the coolant overflow tank and brought it up to my dealer at 92,000k miles. The diagnosis was that the oil cooler was leaking oil into the coolant. The oil cooler is part of the oil filter housing. they did install a new oil cooler/oil filter housing and all associated seals, and so far everything is all good.

Was it a light brown sludge? Also, do you know if this would covered under the powertrain warranty?

Could this also be the problem for having a white sludge/ glob substance in the reservoir?

That may just be your coolant degrading to a point where it is time to flush it. How many miles are currently on your car

Where you able to get any pictures of what it looked like? I just flushed my wife's coolant 3,000 miles ago and its already got sludge in it again lol I am wondering if this may be the issue because her car has 154K
