Default BNR/Forge Bypass Valve installed

Here's a link to where you can buy it. Forge Motorsports 1.4T Recirculating Bypass Valve

Well, the BNR/Forge BPV is installed. It only took me about an hour this time, it definatley helps when you know what's ahead of you. I used the extension, T30 socket and ratchet to break the bolts loose (snug them up don't torque them when installing the bolts!) and the new T30 screw driver to remove the nuts and reinstall them after awards. I also used a magnet attached the not as I removed them so that I did not drop any. I did the reverse for the visible two during reinstall and the tape on the bit trick for the hidden bolt. I'm digging the BPV now as well, it's definately more my style, sounds about like stock but a decent amount louder and like the BOV, it's not very loud in the car with the windows up. Well, here are the pics and the vid.

BNR/Forge BPV

Quick overview of how to do the install.

1. get a 6" extension (3/8" or preferably 1/4") and T30 bit
2. Pull stock air box/intake/heat shield.
3. Pull vacuum line from factory BPV.
4. Cram hand in from passenger fender side and remove three torx bolts from stock BPV.
4. Install BNR/Forge BOV or BPV replacing with factory torx bolts hand tight plus a little bit more.
5. Reinstall vacuum line.
6. Enjoy your new valve!!

Here is a pic of how I managed to not drop a single bolt this go round.

Thanks, I figured I had enough time with the BOV and it was time to toss on the BPV so I could let the forum know what it was all about.

One Vents to the atmosphere, and one Recirculates like the stock BPV.

I know that...I mean is there any benefit to one over the other?

It can be argued that the BPV is better for performance, since it delivers,or bypasses the boost charge back to the inducer side of the compressor wheel, thus giving the compressor wheel a kinetic bump for the next spool up. However, realistically the difference is probably negligible.

@rdss, thanks for the BPV review. I want to hear it under a load. I can't make a clear opinion in neutral and with the inside garage acoustics. I know video requests are a tall order, but if you could get around to it, I'd like to hear it in action.

Another difference between the BOV vs the BPV is the sound you get. The BOV is a lot louder and sounds like a burst of air, the BPV is a little louder than the stock unit but sounds generally the same.

Preload, I have a window up and down video at part to medium throttle that I will post up in a bit.
