Maximum Speed?

Someone asked me the other day what the maximum speed is on the 1.4L Turbo 6sp auto. My father's mother's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate has one, and he says it will do 116MPH, stock. I, of course, never exceed the posted speed limit, but I was wondering if the Trifecta tune alters the "limiter" on the engine any. My Chevy Caprice PPV is definitely computer limited at 132MPH, which is a shame because it has a V8 LS2 engine in it.

Angle? You mean angle of approaching the writer of the tune?

My 1.8 will do 122 stock

137 with a tune. Not sure if its governed or not.

I've confirmed those numbers on a closed course, in mexico, under professional supervision.

I believe the previous limit was really just because it didn't have enough power to push past the extra wind. That's why Chevrolet calls it "drag limited", If had less drag it would have less to push against and could reach higher speed. Give a car more power and it now has extra muscle to push against that wall of air and goes faster.

Aaronalde8 No govenor at that speed, just the point where you don't have anymore power to overcome drag. More power or a lower coeffecient (CD) would raise the top speed

I managed 124 twice and 129 once on the stock tune (ported intake and turbo at that time) so if it was governed I would not be able to hit 124.

Someone could ask Vince or BNR if its governed at 137. I'm not sure. Previous goveners on cars would cut fuel when a predetermined speed was hit and it was very noticable and then it would kick back in..
I did not feel that at any of my top speed runs. BUT torque management programing has more controls at its disposal and could make it feel seemless, of this idk just a wild guess.

I'm surprised honestly that they aren't governed to 105-115...that seems to be where GM governs a lot of other vehicles. My Cobalt was governed at 108...since the tune and many other parts, my top speed was between 130-135...now I think it might make it to about 140 or so...and still have room on the speedometer...swapped from OEM LS cluster (120mph) to SS cluster (160mph).

I think most GM trucks are governed between 98 and 105 as well. All of mine have been defeated (on my 3rd GM truck).

If you didn't ask for it you probably didn't get it. I would load it up and also submit a ticket to have it verified and changed if not already tuned for increased governor.
