Been a while since I've been on as busy with other SEMA projects. Any way thought I would post this if anyone was interested. I picked what I thought was a fair asking price to start with because of customizations and only 1K miles on my Sonic, but as they say everything negotiable. One thing I would point out, I ran Nitrous one time for spec's, time, etc. Main reason not more was to give potential new owner that option to run Nitrous or not for OEM warranty reasons. The car is worth maybe $15k. You don't get your mod money/time back. There is no market for it.

I've got well over $10k in mine, and Id be flattered to get $12k for it as is.

GLWS, hopefully someone will humor you, but I think the members here would rather buy-and-build instead of buy built.

Please don't be offended by the reality.

I could see someone possibly giving you about $18k depending. If you throw in the SEMA award, that might entice someone to spend more.

I love my sonic but I don't think any amount of mods would make me be willing to spend $45k on it. Personally, if I had $45k to spend, it wouldn't be on an econobox.

I appreciate the comments, but amusing in a sense. As I sold my SEMA 2008 Pontiac Solstice GXP for $75K and my SEMA 2007 HHR for $60K home.

Like the Sonic all our SEMA cars are for the serious buyer. But again I understand the average Sonic buyer thoughts. On another note if I being told correct information with potential buyer I'm dealing with, Sonic will be picked up & sold next week for my asking price. Thanks again and my best to all.

I don't see a point in buying a sonic for 45k you can get one loaded for 20k and if you put another 25k in it it will be awesome. But still would never do that.

I think the point is when one seeks to buy a show car, one buys the show and the car is thrown in for free.

And props to FEARONE for putting it on the board. Other Sonic show car makers have not, probably realizing the greeting their offer would attract. At least two of them were Yellow and we all know I do notice Yellow Sonics.

Guys this thread goes to prove one thing. Your car is worth what someone will pay for it.

The problem is finding someone that agrees with your price.

Fearone found a person that agrees. Most of us average joes would never find someone. It is what it is.

Why all the hate. Do I agree with his price. Hell no. Does my opinion matter. Hell no. Did he ask for anyone's opinion. Hell no. He was just asking if anyone was interested.

I disagree. This is not the average Sonic owners forum and it is not the pretentious Sonic owners forum. In my mind this is an enthusiasts forum oriented toward the interests of Sonic owners. Show cars are real life evidence of what can be done just as your builds are real life evidence of what can be done.

I would have liked other Sonic show car owners intending to sell to have posted here. But I now understand why those others have not.

I guess some people will pay $10 for a gallon of milk if you tell them it came from an important cow. Those kind of people exist, but I give the membership here enough credit to not be those people.

I agree on the disagreement. I don't have any hard feelings for Fearone. His Sonic will be sold and we will never hear from him again. I hope he does get 45k. I also hope he enjoyed the free publicity and ideas he found here.

I completely agree with Preloader. Enthusiast site this is, but the people here are also realistic people, if anyone here can afford the $45k, they know they'll be spending it on something different.

If someone out there buys it, more power to you, but you should know right off the bat you're going to get these responses from this type of forum and you should know it's not worth posting here because it won't sell here. Regular people don't buy show cars like this. Classic and muscle cars tend to be the exception.
