I see him usually once a week. He said it hinders ride quality. Do you know what the exact issue was?
Man, this one has me curious. I know from reading forums like ecomodder.com that a bellypan is a coveted addition. Someone went to the trouble of designing it for the Sonic so it must have had some aerodynamic advantage. My car was built last November, so it came with it.
I have noticed when I go over certain kinds of bumpy surfaces that I hear a lot of extra noise from the front end. I had originally thought, from reading this forum, that it could have been sway bar links or some suspension issue. I asked the dealer to check, and they said everything was fine. This was before the bellypan delete had happened. Now I'm wondering? Is the bellypan creating the extra noise?
I'm in the Sonic for the mileage, and my last tank being a calculated 38.1 city/highway is paying off for me. If the bellypan is making more noise, I'm wondering if some weatherstripping where the plastics meet could silence that. But either way, I'm thinking I can put up with more noise IF this is the issue.
The plot thickens....
