I too, preferred the lights and body lines (and shade of blue) on my 2014. I lost it this past summer to an uninsured driver who failed to yield right of way and crashed into my driver's side front corner. I bought a blue 2017 to replace it, but it doesn't look as sporty as the 2014 in my opinion.
I do like the dash gauges on the '17 compared to the sideways mobile phone digital display on the '14, which seemed destined to glitch out in the future.
I miss the RS features that came with the 2014 (the pedals, 4 wheel discs, suspension). I had the suspension package added a couple of weeks ago to the '17, and would like to get rid of those drums in the rear.
Every time I see an earlier Sonic with the old lights, I give a little sigh and think about the things I miss on my '14, but thankful the crumple zones and frame did the job of keeping me from suffering serious injury.
