cannot reset trip odometer?

I made sure trip odometer is the active menu selection, I pressed and held down the reset button on the tachometer but it doesn't reset....

Is this a fault with the car? I only have the car for about 3 weeks

Did you press the reset for the trip meter? Its located in the cluster. Bottom right of the tachometer. You
Scroll to the trip meter then you hold down this button that is in your bottom right of the tachometer and this will reset your trip.

Have you read the pamphlet that is called "getting to know your sonic"? This will help you out a lot on the basic features of the car.



I'm sorry. It's late. I just reread your post. It sounds like you were doin the proper procedure. I'd take it back to the dealer and have them look at it.

The button to reset your trip meter is on the dash and not in the newer technology scroll. Look on the dash for the old fashioned button. I made the same mistake when I bought my car then found it.

It sometimes takes longer than one would expect when pressing the stem on the tachometer to get the trip odometer to reset, but so far, in my case at least, it has always reset.

I do not know why it takes longer. Actually, I do not know why the Sonic uses an outdated approach to reset the trip odometer given they use the rest of modern technology to access the DIC.

I finally got it to reset....somehow the trip odometer stem wasn't making a good connection with the circuitry inside, I had to manipulate the stem so it would connect

I'd be taking it to the dealer. I wouldn't want something like that to affect things down the road

I actually hurt myself everytime I do this.....

I have sausage fingers though Good for some things....

took me 5-10 minutes when I first reset the trip od.
