opinions on or has anyone thought about running corvette wheels on their sonic
specifically salad shooters c4 corvette i believe

no used too own a slammed 88 s10 with vette wheels still have them and was thinking about the possibility of running them on the sonic with adapters of course just dont know if the +32mm offset is a problem and the fact that they're 9.5in wide

I like were this is going. Gonna need some spacer adapters, but I'm on board with this idea.

The thinnest adapters will be fine at 19mm with your 32 offset. The ideal adapter would be about 14-15mm but I don't think that exist. With the 19 adapter and 9.5 inch wheel though, the wheel will stick past the fender at least 1 inch. Maybe as much as 1.5 inch.

In my opinion, no. But it would be interesting to see a 9.5" rim on the Sonic.

There is very little room particularly in the rear, where you come very close to the coil spring and the shock absorber, so if you do get it on please be careful when driving. Stretched tire or not.

You may not be able to find a regular tire to fit that rim anymore. Even a 245/45/16 would be stretched and they don't make that in regular tires, only track specific. 265/45/16 will be a little tall and not too stretched and I only saw that Kumho makes a summer tire in that size. I'd like to see it on a sonic, but it may not be worth all the money spent.

What were the original tire size for the rims?

255 by 50 on 8.5 rims. I'm thinking when Corvette went to 9.5 rims they were 17s and were originally for the ZR1, which had a wide body to accommodate the bigger wheels.

Actually, until ~9 months ago Toyo made good 245/45/16's, they stopped making the Proxy T1r right after I put a set of 4 on my Z.
(Factory size for my Z is this same size and most Z guys move on because it is a dead size.)

I really like the rims on the new C6 corvettes. Especially the ZR1 wheels. But the chances of those fitting the Sonic are dismal.

Do you mean 245/45/16? I've also have been looking for street tires of that size but notice that it has been discontinued other than track tires. And the reason I was looking for that size is because I have a set of Turbo Z rims for my MR2. Got those rims 5 or 6 years ago but I've only now started to get the MR2 back to running condition. I guess it's time to move on like you say to 17's or 18's.
