Flex is inherent in a unibody design. Bridging the tops of the struts is supposed to eliminate (or highly reduce) the flex of the sheetmetal and provide a more solid base for the suspension and steering to translate through.Im kinda lost on the whole performance aspect of this, what difference do you actually feel? It doesnt look like this mounts to the strut tower like a traditional brace, it looks like all it does is re-enforce the front quarter panels by looking at the mounting points. Looks more like its for show then anything.
True, but all it's doing (contact with struts or not) is bracing the sheet metal and eliminating flex. It's in a good spot to do just thatI understand that completely but this doesnt look like it is mounting to the top of the struts, it looks like it just attaches to the quarter panels. The tops of the struts are located under the windshield wiper cowel
The Sonic has a strut brace built in from the factory, your wish is granted.Nice.. still wish it was on the strut towers.
All Sonics are the same up front, trim doesn't change the shape of the carBut is any of this for the LT or 1.8 models?
