OK, over enthusiastic uber-newb here, but I wondered if there would be much uptake for an early spring poker run starting/ending in the Oshawa/Ajax area and taking the better part of a day to run?
My thought is to set up a route heading north out of town, and have folks meet at a lunch spot around Bracebridge. There's some nice twisty roads up there.
I like the un-route, non GPS type of run where folks are left to themselves to figure out how to get from A to B, plus its less work for me. At the start you're handed a waiver to sign and the first destination, after that its every car for itself.
I did a couple of these sorts of things with the sailing club, and they can be a lot of fun. I don't see it being much different in a car.
If I get a dozen or so yes's here, I'll start scrounging prizes and see if I can get a little promotion from local dealers/aftermarket shops/graphics places, etc.
Working date as of now is the second Saturday in April (week after Easter). Would folks be willing to kick $25 or so into a prize pot?
