Hood & Fender Gap

I have an issue on the body.
There is a big gap between right fender and hood. It is huge gap between those when compare to left side.

I took it to the dealer and they said they can not fix this gap because it is not human made and it is machine made..is that make sense?

Please see the pictures...First picture is right side and second picture is left side..
What do you think?

I have the same issue with my car on the drivers side. It almost looks like the hood isn't all the way shut but it is.

Yeah, they're just being lazy. Just loosen the fender bolts on that passenger side fender and shove it in a little.

This is one of those takes longer to write up than to do the fix situations. . Doing it is called earning good will. Being unable to do it calls into question the ability to do anything else.

Clearly Chevrolet stopped closing stores before they should have and this is not the lone example of why I make this statement.

Metal probably wasn't cut right "is that make sense" doesn't make sense either I found that part funny

But yea that's lazy they should put a new hood on under warranty free of charge sense they evidently were to lazy to catch it at the plant or dealer

It is probably cut right but stamped wrong.


The gap is wrong on the front of my hood

I have yet to see if I can get it any better.

Mine seems to be fine. The front gap in front of my hood is pretty big but its even all the way across so I guess that's how its meant to be.

Just about ever sonic I have looked at either has alignment issues or paint runs on the tips of the hood. My front clip is off pretty bad and I showed my dealership and they are willing to fix it to how it should be. However I spent a fair amount of time talking to them and the reason I haven't had mine fixed is because it will show that they tweaked the panels to get it correct. The paint on the bolts will probably get beat up and the fenders will definitely have marks from where the washers were tightened down originally. Not that I plan to ever sell this car, but If i did someone may question the marks and think I'm lying about an accident. So for now I look over the fact that my front clip isn't very straight and try not to let it bother me. Its in "Factory Specs", but If this car cost more than it does I would have it back in there fixed perfectly with no sign it was fixed. Maybe I'll take it in one day and then change the fender bolts and washers to to stainless or something and hide the marks.

Unacceptable! You should go to top brass for this one.
GM has pretty high expectations for what comes off the line.
If they could not fix it, I wouldn't be surprised if they took
the car back and gave you a replacement.

I wouldn't be surprised if they said it could not be fixed. It's a sub 20k Eco car not a corvette

That may be true, but I would certainly not accept it. Bottom line is that it should not matter if it is a 60,000 car or a 20,000 car, you are the customer and it needs to be right!

I've been always surprised by several small things that are relative to this in my sonic. I still love the car very much but, every time I notice something I'm like hmmmm my 200,000+ mile 01 civic never did that haha
