How big can you go?

How big of a Tire and Rim can you go? I don't think 20" will fit but would like to know.

There is a foreign sonic bagged on 20's. If you dig enough you'll find the thread. I don't think it's all that functional and I'm sure the limited turning radius is okay on the show car but not so much for a DD.

Yeah, there have been a couple of Sonics running 20's. Not sure how much modification was necessary in each case to make them fit or if they rub at all.

MPFab also put a huge set of tires on his car, but they're more wide than tall. The 255/35-18s he put on the back are only ~3% taller than stock but about 30% wider, and he fit them with coilovers. He's got 225/40-18 on the front, which are about the same height. If you keep your wheels/tires skinnier than that, I'm sure you can fit something taller, especially on stock suspension.

I would also like to know what the tallest possible tire is without rubbing, in case I decide to go that route for extreme highway mileage. Apparently Trifecta and the other tuning companies can reprogram the speedo for different tire heights, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, BNR said that all you need to do is find the actual speed at an indicated speed (60 indicated, 65 actual for example) and trifecta would have been able to adjust my odometer/speedometer.

You need a tune with customer updates and then you let your tuner know the above information and they should send you an updated tune with the adjustment for tire height size. At least that's what Trifecta does.

I'm running 245/40/17 front and back with no issues at all(I'm on eibachs), Tallest I've run on the car lowered was 215/50/17(my winters) again no issues. I know a guy who ran 215/55/17(stock cruze size) on his Sonic Sedan with stock suspension without issue, I'm sure it wouldn't work well lowered, but then again won't know until someone tries.

HP tuners definitely has the correction stuff for different tire sizes, it's quite nice. I'm running a 225/45/17 which actually isn't far off in diameter from the stock 15's but it's nice to be able to tweak it and keep it accurate.

Or move it way down and make your mileage increase much slower than it should. Although that might be illegal. Just saying.

I've actually got 255/35R18 all the way around. The fronts are 18"x9" and the rears are 18"x9.5".
The tires are virtually the same height as stock
Stock tires are 25.070
Mine are 25.027
